JAKARTA: Make Money Blog$, Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), which measures the overall performance of Indonesian shares, slightly decreased 0.28% or 10.73 points to 3,775.22 in the midday trading in line with correction in regional market as deepening concern on slow economic recovery continued.
The JCI was moving in the range of 3,764.02-3,786.90. About two shares fell for every share that was up. More than a half of the shares were unchanged.
Some blue chip shares were dragging JCI down, including PT Bank Mandiri Tbk which gave minus 2.72 points contribution, followed by PT Astra Internatioanl Tbk with 1.67 points, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk 1.44 points and PT United Tractors Tbk 1.19 points.
PT Adaro Energy Tbk was one of several stocks that sustained the index with positive contribution of 0.94 point. Others were shares of PT Bayan Resources Tbk 0.79 point, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk 0.71 point and PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk 0.71 point.
BISNIS-27 Index, the stock of 27 stocks launched by business daily newspaper Bisnis Indonesia, also decreased 0.39% or 1.28 points to 326.48. BISNIS-27 Index was moving within 325.01-327.92.
In the regional market, Nikkei 225 declined 0.40% to 9,439.96, Hang Seng in Hong Kong market decreased 0.55% to 22,604.76. Shanghai SE declined 0.24% to 2,760.51, South Korean's Kospi slipped 0.49% to 2,051.58, and Straits Times in Singapore decreased 0.50% to 3,097.50.
The MSCI Asia Pacific excluding Japan Index descended 0.62% to 877.07.
The rupiah was slightly down by 0.22% against the US dollar at IDR8,590. (NOM)
