NEW YORK. Wall Street fell back in early trading today. In fact, the correction is happening dragging the Standard & Poor's 500 indexentered bear market territory.
S & P 500 Index has slipped 2.06% to a level of 1076.54 at 10:12am in New York. With the correction that happened today, thebenchmark index is already down more than 20% of three-yearhighs on 29 April. This is the threshold of entering the bearishmarket.
Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) fell 2.18% to10423.11, today. And, the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 1.38% to2303.53.
The stock market is the United States (U.S.) eroded as policymakers in Europe are struggling to convince investors that they can overcome the debt crisis in the region.
"Fear is greater than the interest of investors to take a chance in the middle of low stock valuations. Currently, the position ofentering the market looks bearish territory" says Madelynn Matlockof Huntington Asset Advisors, today, in Cincinnati.
