Jakarta - PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk (MNCN), through its subsidiary Linktone Ltd. (Nasdaq: LTON) has acquired 50.01%stake Letang Games Ltd (Letang), a manufacturer of PC-basedgames and mobile from China worth U.S. $ 9.15 million.
This was conveyed Corporate Secreatary PT Media NusantaraCitra Tbk (MNCN) Gilang transparency Iskandar in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Jakarta Monday (18/1/2010).
"The acquisition of shares Letang is the main strategic priorities for the MNC and Linkstone as a form of our effort to provide increasedgrowth and profits to shareholders," he said.
Related to this acquisition, made a cash payment of U.S. $ 2.56million. The rest will be paid on the vulnerable period between2010 to 2011, when Letang is expected to achieve financialtargets.
Letang is a China based company engaged in the mobile gamesand online PC games. The resulting products can be operated on the operating system Flash, Symbian, KJAVA, MTK, Android, Blackberry and Apple iPhone.
"The strength of Letang on research and development combinedwith the power of Linktone games in the field of distribution in China, as well as MNC kekuaan produced content and distributionin Indonesia, will strengthen our position in the mobile gamingmarket," said Group President & CEO of MNC and Linktone, HaryTanoersoedibjo.
