Cocoa Prices Up in 2012?

JAKARTA : Despite the economic slowdown in the UnitedStates and Europe potentially suppress the demand, but the price of cocoa beans is expected to remain up to U.S. $ 3,300 per ton toU.S. $ 3,500 per ton in 2012.

"As global demand rises are production has not changed much,the price for this year's average of about U.S. $ 3,000 per ton could rise to U.S. $ 3,500 per ton next year," said Chairman ofIndonesian Cocoa Association (Askindo) Zulhefi Sikumbang in aseminar on the prediction commodity prices in Jakarta, Thursday (22 / 9).
