Capital Market Supervisory Agency andFinancial Institution Supervisory Agency (Bapepam-LK) will set themechanism of the initial public offering (IPO) or onlineelectronically.
"The application is done by revising mekamisme IX.A.8 Regulationof Preliminary Prospectus and Information Memorandum," saidBureau Chief Corporate Financial Services Sector AssessmentBapepam-LK, Gonthor Ryantori Aziz here on Friday (8 / 7).
He said that Bapepam-LK plans to regulate online IPO mechanismafter the first will conduct discussions with market participants."The idea of the online IPO needs to be addressed carefullybecause it is a new step in the capital markets," he said.
He said the IPO online is indeed a breakthrough and creative step,but the process still must comply with the relevant provisions of the public offering. He added, Bapepam-LK in the future will invitemarket participants to request further information related to theimplementation of the online IPO.
"If Bapepam-LK assume that the IPO process online requires its own regulations, there may be revision of related regulations," he said.
Mentioned in Rule IX.A.8 Preliminary Prospectus is a written document that contains all the information in the Prospectus submitted to Bapepam as part of the Registration Statement,unless the information on face value, amount and price ofsecurities offerings, underwriting, interest rate bonds, or other matters relating to the terms of the offer that could not be determined.
Also mentioned is also the initial offering is an invitation either directly or indirectly by using a preliminary prospectus which among others aims to determine the interest of prospectivepurchasers of securities to be offered and the estimated offering price or the Securities. (Ant/OL-04)
