Jakarta - PT Benakat Petroleum Energy Tbk (Bipi) has acquiredcoal mining infrastructure company, PT Astrindo MasterpiecesIndonesia (AMI) worth U.S. $ 600 million or Rp 5.4 trillion (U.S. $ 1 = Rp 9,000).
According to Finance Director Bipi, Michael Wong, this stepaims to develop the energy business and integrated naturalresources.
Share purchase agreement was signed last December 19, 2011."This acquisition makes the company of oil and gas companiesinto strategic natural resource managers," he said in a releasepublished on Wednesday (21/12/2011).
AMI has a production capacity of 70 million tons of coal per year.Upon addition of this subsidiary, Bipi believe their financial performance will be better.
Company's net profit next year targeted U.S. $ 80 million, andagain rose $ 180 million in 2013. "This acquisition will further enhance the company's performance," he said.
Value of the acquisition, Michael will further add value kepdamembari stakeholders for accelerating non-organic growth strategies.
